just out of curiosity, has there been an incident where a vcaa exam paper has been leaked before the exam date? (either through the internet or whatever)
do they keep the draft copies in a safe or something?
im not thinking of anything naughty, just curious...  :)

Exam cheats face rod after VCE leak

Education authorities have reassured the public any students who have seen leaked papers before sitting their final exams will be identified and appropriately punished.

The Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority says initial inquiries indicate a small number of students from several schools have had access to the Math Methods, Chemistry and Information Processing and Management papers from the VCE exam.

The authority's Susan Pascoe says it was tipped off by a member of the public, though the source of the leaks has not yet been identified.

"They generally actually involve a criminal offence, such as the theft of a paper or papers or a fraud which is someone deceptively obtaining the paper, then passing it on to other people," she said.

"We have informal conversations with the police and we will be continuing those conversations."

...but in reality the security is quite tight. I've heard, and must stress that i've got no evidence supporting this, that schools have end of year exams two weeks before they are to be sat. Bit they are in a security sealed envelope-thingy-magigy which the VCAA people check before the exam to see if it has been tampered with.
