2006 VCAA Exam 2 extended response question 1 a)ii) incorrect?

Hey everyone - I noted that the maximum in the solutions is 2 and the minimum is 0, but would it really be correct to say the maximum is 2, since this isn't possible as the gradient function is not defined at endpoints? I realise that this is getting a bit technical but it is just a bit of food for thought.

Indeed, I was just thinking about that - guess you shouldn't think too far into questions!

Thanks so much for the prompt response though!
