How would you guys rank, the VCAA exams according to difficulty? i find it all over the place for example the 2007 ezam 2 was hard whereas 2010 was relatvely easy.

The vcaa stats pages give you details of grade cutoffs for all subjects.

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/statistics/subjectstats.aspx

Frist choose the year,
second choose the "section 3 - grade distribution'
third choose your subject.

From here you can see what papers were particularly hard and also give yourself a accurate 'grade' for the past exam papers you do.

What do you think we should be averaging in sacs/exam to get 30-34?.... I'm getting quite concerned for chem and methods (especially chemistry). I do have a strong chem cohort, and I average C-B in sacs... achieving 40% in prac exams in september....

Ignore everything from 2007 or before - this is from the old study design.

From hard to easy IMO:
- 2009 Exam 1
- 2008 Exam 2
- 2012 Exam 2
- 2013 Exam
- 2011 Exam 1 and Exam 2
- 2012 Exam 1
- 2008 Exam 1, 2009 Exam 2, 2010 Exam 2 are about the same
- 2010 Exam 1 was very easy (A+ cut was 90%)

A study score of 30 is about a B+ B+ for SACs (keeping in mind your SACs will probably be bumped up since the state median is a B+ for some reason) and about a C+ for the exam.

A study score of 34 is about an A A for SACs and a B+/A in the exam.

It's normal to not do so well in your first few prac exams in September, I wouldn't worry too much about it. How are you going now?

Well I tried the 2013 paper. I went over it and made some pretty silly mistakes (e.g mole ratio's.... which effects the rest of  the answers I give for a big mark question. Or forgetting to balance equations...). I did harsh marking since it wasnt an overly difficult paper and I got just over 60%......

That would be about a C+/B for the exam. Also keep in mind that you may be marking yourself a little harshly - Chemistry examiners are generally nice.
