Should I try hard for methods when im not great at maths?

Alright so here's the deal, for 2015 my girlfriend who is moving from Queensland needs to get at least 25 in maths methods for her radiology course in Monash University, I would also like to get a high score in maths methods to boost my atar as high as I am able to keep my options open. The problem is, is that both of us arnt the best at maths, getting all around average scores in maths classes but getting a high score in methods would mean we would have to try above and beyond, meaning that it could put as behind in other classes. What im asking preferably from people who have done methods in the past is if its worth it? how hard is it really compared to the rumours? would people who are "average" at maths be able to pick it up with lots of hard work or is it impossible? and if it is possible is it worth the time and effort that could possibly be spent on other classes?

you must put effort into this subject. it will be so rewarding when you get a high score. a 25 raw should be really easy, trust me. I have made a huge mistake this year in not working hard in methods. I think I am lucky to get a 33 SS RAW. don't  be like me and regret the past. if you can get a 35+ raw (which isn't that hard if you put the work in), then you have yourself a 41+ Scaled score which is fantastic. a 35 raw requires like usually 52/80 on exam 2, 30/40 exam 1, and 70% SACs. This is very achievable. Try your best with all of your subjects, leave no regrets

Put simply: Yes you do.

If you don't get the pre-requisite of Methods for your course, you won't get into it. Plain and simple. If you decide that you want to take the alternative route which is enter another course, do a bridging unit and then transfer over, that will require an equivalent math unit so you'll need to try anyway.

The point i'm trying to make here is: Just do it now and get it over and done with. Seek tutoring, watch youtube tutorials, read books, whatever is required.

The only other option you have is to find a course that doesn't have a methods pre-requisite.
