Why did you start learning a musical instrument?
Furbob:
started the flute in year 7 since I enjoyed learning the recorder in grade 3~4 and thought that the flute had a pretty sound
stopped playing after finishing 6th grade/when year 12 began :(

--- Quote from: nisha on January 30, 2012, 11:05:30 pm ---I wanted to learn piano because my mum bought me a mini piano (40 cm in length) and I didnt know how to play any nursery rhymes. I wanted to learn how to play 'Twinkle Twinkle little star' (I was only 6 years old) the most, so my mum organised piano lessons.
The first day of the music lesson (i didnt know big pianos existed) so I carried my 40cm in length piano with me to school, for the piano lesson. My piano teacher laughed and said I could have a go at the big piano then.
Since then I have never looked back. Finish 3/4 Music Solo Performance last year:)

Can I just say that that is possibly the most cute story I've ever heard in my life. Good luck with music solo performance.

i had always wanted to learn piano but my parents wouldnt let me take lessons. in like grade 5 or something my parents bought me the $5 keyboard u buy at aldi and i started playing the songs that came with the keyboard. then i started playing other songs i found the sheet music to (only the melody/right hand part) and my parents were then convinced that i liked piano. at the end of grade 6, when my sister started taking singing lessons, i asked my parents if i could take piano lessons. they agreed ;D i continued the lessons until start of year 9 when i got busier and had no time to have lessons. i still play at home but i have not improved ever since i quit. :( i plan to go back to lessons once i start uni :)
