Chang Feng's thread

Hello everyone.
I was just wondering would there be any different between tsfx 2015 lecture notes (CHEM) to that of 2013 or even 2012? And if there was would it be that much in terms of content of what a student needs to know for the chem course or (or still same content need to know, just unnecessary added stuff) ? Oh these are for 3/4 chem tsfx notes.
Thanks.

And also any recommendations on what resources I should get other than textbooks, checkpoints- for chem. (ie. neap question and exam book, lisachem, etc). Any pass people whom have used it please place you suggestions and reasons for it. Thanks.

Hey Chang Feng,

I'd probably go with the 2013 notes over 2012. The study design changed in 2013, and fractional distillation was taken out amongst more detailed knowledge of the various chemical analytical techniques from the study design. They'd be around the same. However, if you got your hands on 2012, you could simply just skip over any of the concepts no longer on the study design.

And also any recommendations on what resources I should get other than textbooks, checkpoints- for chem. (ie. neap question and exam book, lisachem, etc). Any pass people whom have used it please place you suggestions and reasons for it. Thanks.

I used checkpoints, the textbook, TSFX notes, A+ notes (occasionally) and the LisaChem workbook for SAC preparation. Other than that, I think getting less resources is better to some extent. You don't get lost in the midst of ALL your resources. :)

Just wondering what are your opinions on which company is best for chemistry, and reasons for positive and negatives too if you don't mind ? Out of neap, connect and TSFX (only ones I can think of) and others. In terms of the quality of notes. Thanks.

TSFX for me personally was very helpful. Several exam questions I knew how to answer were covered in the lectures, and they also gave extremely helpful notes in the lectures. I haven't attended connect or neap so perhaps others' inputs may help you better decide on which company to go ahead with.
