What a mouthful. Haha.

Reading Medea for English. It has been more interesting than I had first anticipated, it even influenced me to have a look at the classics study design, I'm seriously considering it; hence why I am lurking in this thread.
haha yeah it was night and i was sleepy, also may grammar is never 50000% coherent. i read medea last year for classics, and again for eng this year. it's really great! you'll enjoy the end.  if you have a classics teacher maybe ask them? or are you considering distance ed?

I'd have to do it through distance unfortunately, and no I've finished medea at least 5 times, haha!

I will be using the course book for distance ed, and I will have to read through the Illad book 1 and 3, and The Trojan Women and the Odyssey Book 19 for unit 3. For sac 1 there is a passage analysis for Illad, and a comparative essay for the Trojan women text for sac 2.
For prep I skimmed through the course book, and out of curiosity I have read about Athena, and some events of the Illad and how she defeated Ares' a lot.

I am really liking the subject.

OHH MY GAWWDD (*fangirl scream)

Since this side of the forum is now active (ish ish the last post's date was yesterday!) - Can I please ask what you guys do in classics vce? I wanna pick it up as a Unit 2 next semester because I've always been fascinated about the culture surrounding the ancient worlds. But the thing is - I have no idea what it's gonna be like. Apparently it's a mixture between literature and history which I'm not so fussed about since I love English as a subject :P Any thoughts on the subject you might wanna add - it'd be great to hear!

classics is really great, basically looking at ancient greek texts, examining key ideas, sociohistorical context, technique etc. there's a fair bit of reading, you learn a lot more about the culture (it's less text specific in 1/2) the mythology they believe in etc. you'll enjoy it tonnnnnnnss :)

That's great! Is it the comparative essay SAC? Or the individual text study?

Do you know the best way for answering a question for an extended response of 200-300 words? I have no idea.
