Worth finishing content or chemistry?

Is it worth finishing unit 3&4 during the holidays? Or is it better to only finish unit 3 but really thoroughly? I've been tossing over this for a while now as I'm almost finished unit 3 but I don't have a firm grasp on most of what I've covered but I feel like if I finish the content It would help me better understand the topics come class time. So should I finish unit 3&4 content and would that give me a better advantage as opposed to finishing unit 3 with a much better understanding of what I've covered?

I'd recommend going deeper rather than broader, since a more nuanced understanding of the content is going to help you far more in the long run than superficially knowing all aspects of the course.

Agreed, especially come SAC/exam time where they often try to trip you up/separate students by examining some of the most subtle distinctions in key terms/concepts etc. But that being said, if you have the time, it would definitely be helpful to have a look over unit 4 as well considering the exact same awaits in term 3 next year!

You'll defiantly forget Unit 4 content when the time comes if you just have a "broader" overview. Quality over Quantity, i would just start reading over unit 3 and actually picking out the "mi-nute" details.

I'd agree with everything said above. I did't do anything in terms of learning Units 3&4 during the summer holidays. Instead, I focussed my time on perfecting the sections of Units 1&2 that were important for Year 12. I went through my weaknesses from Year 11 to perfect them, so that my entire focus in Year 12 would be on the new content. I found this was effective for me.

I guess in short that's just another way of suggesting that you focus on perfecting as much of the previous content as possible, as well as some Unit 3 stuff, rather than only brushing over topics that you're likely to forget by half way through next year. :)

I agree with everybody above in saying that you should focus on having a better understanding  of Unit 3 before moving onto Unit4, but I also wanted to add that it might be a good idea to start doing a couple of the old Unit 3 exams, just so you get an idea of how good you actually are.  There are more exams available than you could  ever hope to complete, so you might as well do as many as you can.
