What should i do??

the chance of me getting a 1st round offer for my 1st preference is quite slim, i'm pretty sure im going to get offered my second preference instead. is there anything i can do to have a chance of getting an offer anytime for my 1st preference? or do i just accept the offer thats not my first preference and hope that i somehow get an offer for my 1st preference in later rounds?
