BScAdvHons vs BSc

Could anyone explain to me the difference between BScAdvHons and BSc? I know BScAdvHons gives more flexibility but I can't see anything that could explain the 20 point ENTER gap between them. What are the benefits of doing BScAdvHons over BSc?

And also, for BScAdvHons, do you have to take one of the five 48-point 'packages' of level one units? Or can you do a few units from different packages like MTH2010 from Mathematical and computational sciences package and also do PHS1011 and PHS1022 from the Physical sciences package?

Thanks

BSc(AdvHon) guarentees entry into honours year, and they look after you better in terms of subject selection (i.e. you can be more 'personalized' with the subject you choose, as opposed to generic 'packages').

You will also be required to complete at least one third-year research project in the lead-up to your honours year.
