Hi,

All my teachers have told me I need to do a bit of study for their subject and now all my subject teachers have said this. I am not sure how much to spend on each subject. Does this include time spent on homework and what should i do during this time? and should i study a bit for each subject each night ? etc

The subjects I am completing are:

-English
-Methods
-Further
-Chemistry
-Business

Could i please have advice on this.

(I think this would be a beneficial question for most people)

You don't necessarily have to study each subject each night. Realistically, you'd be spending a minimum of 45-60 minutes on one subject to get some reasonable amount of work done. Considering you have 5 subjects, you can see why this is not really possible.

What I recommend you do is complete any set homework and from there onwards prioritise your subjects according to how soon assessments are. The cumulative effect of doing even a little everyday is significant, but consistency is the key. If you've got this down pat, then I'd move on to focussing on subjects you have difficulty with, clarifying any misunderstandings and doing as much practice as possible (e.g. exam questions, essays etc.).

If you're keen, then I'd recommend going ahead during the holidays; again, especially with subjects you're having trouble with.

Now obviously, this is just my opinion and a generic one at best; your mileage may vary.

I suggest working on three subjects a day. Since you have 5 subjects, choose one subject (preferably your weakest) to work on everyday. Then alternate with the other four subjects.
e.g. Night 1: Chemistry Methods English
Night 2: Chemistry Business Further
Repeat!

With staying disciplined and building routine, I suggest studying at the local library to escape distractions and build study momentum for home time/the next day.

Hopefully this heaps, and good luck!
