You cannot ensure anything. Scoring a 50 in a subject may take some luck.

Like the person above mentions an element of luck does play 'some' part in getting a 50.

Personally I think your question should be rephrased, it should be: What can I do to put myself in the best possible position to attain a 50 in Psych?

The answer: For now? I'd say develop a strong foundation and not worry too much about what score you're going to get, it's best to do things freely without stress.

Note: For now

Gl :)

^^ I definitely agree with what has been mentioned so far.

The only thing I'd like to add is try and learn research methods properly in Year 11, because this is one of the few things in 1/2 Psych that is basically the same in 3/4 Psych (and something that a lot of people seem to struggle with).

But other than that, don't stress about trying to achieve a number, focus on learning things well and doing your best. :)

its hard to secure a 50 because in terms of knowledge once you get into the high 40's range most people are on the same level and it is the little mistakes that separate people. to do well in psych i would say the first thing you should do is conceptually understand all the concepts, rather than just memorise them. then once you really really get it, you start to memorise examiners model answers and textbook definitions and that sort of thing. make sure you understand things first though because then the definition wont be some meaningless words strung together, but a coherent articulation of knowledge you already have in your mind.
good luck !! psychs a great subject

Almost nothing from 1/2 psych carries over into 3/4. As the others have said, just learn the research methods well and things like the IV, DV and EV's. Learn how the scientific method is used and how the different ways data can be obtained in studies. If you really want to go further, you could start learning the 3/4 course now, although I wouldn't recommend it at this point.

How exactly do you practise research methods? Where do you find research methods worksheets?

There should be a chapter in your textbook on research methods. To practice research methods you just need to do a lot of questions! Checkpoints has these type of questions throughout each chapter, as well as one chapter with extended response questions, so I suggest trying some of these.

I found the Research Methods Workbook to be really helpful too as it has one page explaining the theory and then one page of questions to practice for each concept. (https://cengage.com.au/product/title/vce-psychology-research-methods-workbook/isbn/9780170214100)

It's true, unit 1/2 Psych does not have any relevance to 3/4 aside from research methods.

Hey guys,
Practice, practice, practice is the way to getting a 50 in Psychology. It is imperative to be really meticulous about the way you revise. You need to ensure you cover each section of every dotpoint in order to be prepared for whatever the VCE Psychology exam throws at you. I did this in year 12 and it landed me the 50.

I am running a weekly class with Connect Education on SATURDAY beginning next week on Sunday the 8th of March. Each week we will rigorously cover the content in examinable context to put you on your path to a 50 in VCE Psychology. To ensure a place YOU MUST BOOK TODAY OR TOMORROW : https://www.connecteducation.com.au/classes . PLUS  get 10% off when you use the discount code: jack :D
