Thanks mate - definitely not in a position to be talking shit haha. Thought we had a good run again with the umpires early on, too - all important for momentum.

Yeah, I thought you had a good run with them early - it probably evened out late in the game but it was well over by then. The Watts mark was the one that had me shouting...

*sigh*. Lindsay Thomas suspended AGAIN. When he was on the receiving end of the negative attention for diving etc, you know.. I had some sympathy.. but the two acts in the VFL.. after seeing them, I just can't sympathise anymore.

Bit strange, isn't it? At least he probably wasn't going to be brought back into the side in the next few weeks anyway haha.

Nathan Jones out for 4-6 weeks. How will this impact the Dees, Nick?

That's actually disgracefully bad news. First I've heard of it. Makes me sad. :(

I'm 99% sure Nathan Jones has played in every single Melbourne win since 2006. So, y'know.

EDIT: That^ just sunk in. Fuck. If there's one player who deserves some sort of success, it's gotta be him.

EDIT II: Viney really has to step up now.

I reckon West Coast have got you this week. Top 8 might not be for long.

In other news: AFL Hall of Fame, at least North are winning something this season............ lol

We'd lose to West Coast in Perth even if we had Robbie Flower and Stan Alves on the wings lol.

hahahahahahaha. lol.

I'm back on the Swallow train. If you want to play someone half forward, fucking play Ziebell there. For one, he can actually kick 50 metres, and he's also a strong contested mark (relative to Andrew Swallow who, let's face it, is a shit half forward). As a straight inside mid, Ziebs hardly has a major claim of superiority over Swallow. I agreed with him being dropped, he was lacking in the AFL but, in fairness, he was played out of position.

Anderson better come straight the fuck out. Hopefully JMac and, if not, literally anyone else in our VFL side outside of Nick Larkey/Ben McKay. I'd probably take Preuss over Jed as a small forward right now :) :)

edit: just for future reference, unless I specify that I'm serious, I'm perennially talking absolute shit about football.

brenden, I read today that Swallow is being considered as part of a trade w/ GC.... thoughts?

Dunno how accurate it is, but imagine that... captain one year, sent packing a few later.

I said to Nick a few weeks ago we should offload him to GC so he can play with his brother haha. If we got Josh Kelly - 100%, happy to offload. We're chock full of midfielders. At the moment, if Swallow wasn't on the list and Cunnington got injured in be very upset but if we add a super high quality mid to the list then really, there's no point Andrew Swallow wasting away in the 2s. He's too good for VFL.

Despite my previous post - now being serious - it's a good thing he's not being played at the moment - I've been wanting Dumont in the team for a long time. I think he's going to be an absolute bull, have loved him since he first came the club. Makes great choices, has a great sense of the game, strong mark, and will develop into an absolute beast inside mid. Can't have Swallow pushing him out - even if he is the better inside mid (which I'm not convinced of for the 2017 season at least), needs the game time. So if not Dumont's role, what role does he play? Inside mid? Surely not, who would he replace? Not in our top 8 backs, not in our top 10 forwards. If you add Kelly, there's just no place for him in the AFL team, and if that's the case, it's unfair to him to keep him on the list when he could be contributing in a major way elsewhere - which I think he'd do a lot at a club like GCFC.

Swallow hasn't been great when they have given him that half-forward type role (when he has actually played... that is). Also read that Jacobs, Wright etc. are about to finish their rehab programs so hopefully... HOPEFULLY... they hurry up and return.

if they don't drop him after last week's crappy performance they have rocks in their head. How does someone like that get rewarded after what like 9 disposals for an entire game?
