Can I continue Dip Lang during my honours year?

Apparently i'd need to either overload my subjects in order to complete a diplang along with a 3-year standard course (commerce). But since i'm contemplating an honours year, can i finish the diplang off in that year?

It would be impossible.

Usually the diploma of languages "works" because you can mix the subjects alongside the subjects from your regular degree.

During your honours year (if you do it full time), all 8 of your subjects ill have to be honours subjects. In reality, its usually just 2-3 really large subjects but its still the same principal really.

There is simply no room within your honours year. Contact the university for further advice on this one.

It is possible without overloading!

...but only under very specific circumstances. I can only speak for the D.Lang in French but the department does offer a Summer intensive subject (25 points) and some other breadth subjects that don't run during the standard semesters. So! Once you've cross credited the maximum 4 units, you've just got to make up the other 4 during Summer/July courses.

I should also note that I started at entry point 1 alongside a Science degree.

(sorry to hijack but no point making a new thread)
with the cross crediting your dip lang to your breadth, does that mean you still get breadth subjects that are non language?

EDIT: nevermind, some quick browsing shows that it is indeed the case !
