Bachelor of Science

Hi everyone,
I'm in year 11 and subject selections for year 12 are coming up.
This year I am doing 1/2 English, Chem, Methods, Bio, RE and Italian, as well as 3/4 Further Maths.
I am strongly considering not doing Bio next year though as my school doesn't have very good teachers in the field and I struggle to learn this years content. I am however doing well in Methods, and Chem so will continue those subjects. So, I am wondering whether students of a UoM Bachelor of Science would strongly recommend me doing Bio anyway, or whether I will be okay beginning the degree with only 1/2 Bio Knowledge?
* I understand that I haven't really had a taster of any majors, but am mostly interested in the Chemistry or Genetics majors.

You'll be fine. The content of year 11/12 bio is covered in the first couple of weeks of first year bio. Students who do high school bio aren't really at any major advantage.

It's more important that you do chem and maths (especially maths).

So much of biology we learnt in semester 1 was revision. And the new stuff that we did learn wasn't really hard at all.

As Mahler said you'll be fine, you definitely don't have to do any VCE biology subjects to do bachelor of science. In fact, I met so many people in semester 1 who were doing biology but had not done VCE bio, and they were fine.
