50 in Methods?

Is it possible to get a 50 in methods, if you're rank 1 with 93% average but you still destroy the exams? Does cohort strength, size and your own average even matter if you are rank 1?

Cheers.

The only thing that matters in terms of SACs is your rank. If you're ranked 1st, then it doesn't matter how many people are in your cohort, what your actual percentage is, or how strong your cohort is.

If you're ranked 1st, your exam result will determine whether or not you can score a 50. Good luck :)

And what if you are rank 2 by a little bit, say ~2% on average, does all the above matter?

Hypothetically if everyone else in the top 5 (depending how big your cohort is, at somewhere like mhs its pretty much impossible) or so did shit your sacs would scale down a bit. However, if you were ranked 2 and aiming for 50, then the person ranked 1 must be pretty good, so your sacs will scale well if you both do well

Theoretically if you are ranked 5 as well, and rank 1 has around 98%+ on his sacs.. and u ace the exam and beat him, you have a chance for 48+ as you take his sac marks.

The thing that you should really be worrying about is ending up rank 1. If you're rank 2 and you're worried about rank 1 bombing, it means that R1 has been inconsistent throughout the year and you really should be beating him (i'm talking about small cohorts of size <50, because top cohorts you could be ranked 10-15 and still be okay).

Mind, that for them to actually affect your score, rank 1,3-10 have to all bomb because if rank 3 does better than 1, you'll take 3's scaled sac equivalent. Chances of that happening? virtually 0.

Regardless, if you full mark the exam, for you to not get 50, you'd have to get a low A+/high A SAC scaling or lower. Probably not going to happen.

Tl;dr if you full mark the exam as rank 2, you'll get 50 99% of the time.

what if you full mark the exam in a below average cohort, with a ranking of 10?

What about equal 1st? I think someone here said they take the average of the top two exam scores or something..

Tbh i thought my sac rankings post was detailed enough, but evidently not :(

You'll still get 45+, and really, if you're down to the point where your sacs scaled to less than 80/100 (the point where you suffer significant disadvantages from sacs), you won't full mark the exam unless you bribe people for the exam (tough love).

What about equal 1st? I think someone here said they take the average of the top two exam scores or something..

Equal 1st should always be 50-able. Unless you got dogged out by your teachers and got put 2nd instead (has happened before).

Ah ok, cause I remember someone way back (maybe lzxnl) said they were equal rank 1 in chinese, but the other person bombed the exam and brought everyone else's mark down, except for his. Would be interesting to see if that had any impact on his sac scores (not that it ended up mattering lol).

CSL is dodgy. The problem with that is there's a small sample size in most cohorts and one mark on the exam means legitimately 3-4 study scores near the top end.

Most subjects have plenty of students to make up for the occasional bomb. A CSL bomb is probably like dropping 3 unnecessary marks (and like 5 study scores) when it wasn't even that much of a bomb.
