UniMelb Commerce Degree Quality

Hey everyone.

I'm currently in Year 12 and I'm doing an extension study in accounting at Monash University. In doing this extension study, I've figured out that Commerce is a degree I want to pursue. I initially wanted to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at Monash since the extension study units I'm doing already are part of that course. The course restricts the Commerce Majors to just Accounting and Finance and it also offers internships as part of the course.

However, my school is under-represented at UniMelb and I'm most likely going to achieve a low 90 atar so today I started considering studying a Bachelor of Commerce at UniMelb. I was just wondering if there are any noticeable benefits to studying Commerce at UniMelb rather than Monash and whether I can transfer my completion of Extension Studies to UniMelb even though I did them at Monash? The Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at Monash looks good but I don't want to restrict myself when I'm not sure if a major in Economics or Actuarial studies may be better. Both Unis are pretty much the same distance from me so location isn't an issue. It just seems daunting to pic from Commerce at UniMelb or Commerce at Monash or Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at Monash or a double degree etc...

Thanks for any help.  :)

Nice! You've found out what you wanna do at uni before finishing year 12! (Although your sig says 2014 ATAR of 94??? Haha)

If you're not sure if the specialist Commerce degree at Monash is for you, don't do it. Saves you from being locked into what your majors will be.

Either way, Commerce at Monash and UniMelb is an awesome course to get into, I guess it just depends, as you said, if you want to do a double degree (Which will have to be done at Monash).

Either way, you have plenty of time to decide, in the meantime, email the universities with your questions, they are seriously a great source of information.
