Hi i was wondering what a GPA of of 5.2 on a 7 point scale is? Can someone please explain this to me? I would really appreciate it
I'm speaking in terms for medicine/dentistry/physio/optom etc so it might be different for what you have.
Every subject you do is given a grade point - 80+ = 7.0, 75+ = 6.5, 70+ = 6.0, 65+ = 5.5 etc
So for Year 1 the GPA would be calculated as grade point for subject 1+ grade point for subject 2...... / (8 subjects - assuming you do

.
This is the same for Year 2, 3 and once you average all of them you'll get an overall unweighted GPA meaning that all 3 years are weighted the same.
If it's the same as for medicine/dentristy etc, then say year 1 is worth X, year 2 = 2X, year 3 = 3X so there's a large emphasis on your 3rd year marks for a decent GPA..
A 5.2 GPA is pretty much getting 60s-69s across your degree. It's not bad, but it certainly isn't great especially if you're looking to do the JD/Optom/MD/DDS for postgrad.
