Getting ahead

Hi everyone

I'm in year eleven and I want to get ahead into year twelve chemistry.
As I am working through the textbook, would you recommend me to use Neap chemistry smart study guides or are they a waste of money? Where can I get all the other company papers?
Also, which questions should I start doing in 3/4 chem to understand the concepts really well? Like what company? Neap, insight, Cambridge checkpoints?

Pls advise,

Thanks

How far are you planning to get ahead?

Personally, i recommend just learning U3 AoS 1 before starting U3/4 chemistry, which is what I did. Anything beyond that would be too much.

Anyways, just going through the textbook should be enough. Buying a study guide is a waste of money because thushan's free chemistry notes destroy all (they're the best, just saying). I have both U3 and U4 A+ notes, which I bought for $50, and, again, thushan's notes are of better quality.

I'd recommend the Neap smart study questions book and the Lisachem one (Kevin Berry) which literally has 1000s of Qs.

Definitely recommend both of these books as well since Neap sorts questions out in topics within each Area of Study (MCQ and Extended Response) whilst the LisaChem one is literally an overview of every Area of Study with MCQ and Extended Response (for example, in U4 AOS1, there's 188 MCQ alone where questions aren't past VCAA ones)!

@_inspire45 Checkpoints is nice to have for SAC revision and it's nice to also have in-class sometimes if your teacher is going slow and whatnot so doing questions out of Checkpoints is good as well

Double Post  :'(

Seeing as there are so many chem guys online right now:

How would you guys go about learning the course alone, such as what sequence would you undertake?

for example it would be something like take notes--->textbook questions--->company booklet questions---->trial exams---->VCAA exams

When reading get a little boring turn to youtube.

Chemisode youtube clips have pretty much all of unit 3 covered as a basic introduction to the topics, and the apps from the app store work pretty well, you get around 300 flashcards.  There are only apps for unit 1,2 and 3 though.  All the content can be found at http://www.chemisode.com.
