Wondering how everyone's going with chem practice exams?
This evening I did an Engage paper and ended up with 82/90 :( a bunch of silly mistakes.

Which engage paper did you do? I did the 2012 one and had a kind of rubbish result (mid 70%ish) so that result in comparison is really good!

dw practice makes perfect ;)
btw make sure you check your answers critically, Engage's papers tend to have mistakes in the solutions :P.

I think TSSM are the easiest. The hardest practice exam I've ever done is the unit 4 KBT exam. You should be overjoyed with 70% especially in the multiple choice section. You can find this exam somewhere on the forums. The next hardest exams are probably Thushan's exampro exams and Neap exams.

Personally I feel that Neap is probably the most difficult, and VCAA fairly easy, except for Unit 3 2011 ... some questions were answered correct by 6% or something !

FYI the question is from VCAA (as per a couple of posts ago), and hence has a solution on their website http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/exams/chemistry/chemistry1_assessrep_11.pdf

Out of interest, when did you complete Unit 3 chem content?

Huh.. And why was it that the electron jumped from the nitrogen to the oxygen in particular? Is it the xtreme electronegativity of oxygen?
Thanks  ;D
