I haven't checked my umat score yet, but what is the minimum umat score universities want, if you are applying through SEAS or EAS for medicine

so med unis do not take into account SEAS at all in the UMAT, so its an even playing field, as opposed to VCE right.

So for the Monash Guarantee, if you fill out your SEAS form and show evidence of receiving Family Tax Benefit A, are you automatically part of the Monash Guarantee? Or do you need to be receiving family Tax Benefit A and also meet another condition?? Like for example the lower your combined family income, the greater the extent Monash Guarantee applies to you?

Not sure if my question made sense, but basically I think my family just falls into the requirements for getting Tax Benefit A, and I'm worried I don't qualify for Monash Guarantee

Im pretty sure that counts, my family has both benefit A and B, and they are both the same. U have to fill out the SEAS category 3.. i think.. under financial difficulty.

What do you mean by "more than average guarantee"?
So I think basically you just need to qualify for the guarantee based on anything from being financially disabled to rural location.. Right?
Then, if you qualify for the guarantee and get the necessary marks, I think ur then guaranteed a place.. I think..

Its not a gurantee gurantee, but its a 70-80% gurantee

I mean a guarantee that is over the usual for a urban student. Sorry- wasn't too clear there...

I think basically that means theres a certain number of places reserved for students with Monash Guarantee, so hypothetically if there were 20 places (idk what the actual number is though), you'd have to have Monash guarantee and minimum of 94 atar and 175 aggregate UMAT to be in the running for these places, and then the best 20 students (ie best combination of atar, umat and interview) competing for these places would be chosen. Is that right? It still seems pretty competitive though  hopefully there's a fair few places with Monash Guarantee

yeah thats what i was thinking as well, coz if there's 100 students getting 94 and 175 in umat, and there are only 50 spots in the course, obviously half the people will miss out.

I know a person who got 96 atar and a 182 umat, and he got in.. i mean.. its better to get these kind of scores rather than 94-175
