Ok so I don't really know much about the subjects you're thinkg of buuuuuuutttttttttt..

Why pick two beginners language subjects and then not continue them? Seems pretty pointless to me.

have you looked up the subjects on the Uni Melb Website? there's a description of each of those subjects, assessments, contact hours and so on...?

I find that those who do a subject from the Arts faculty in semester 1 as their breadth, tend to switch to a subject from the Eco&Comm faculty in semester 2. For example, I did Chinese 4A in sem 1 and now I'm doing Finance 1 for sem 2. If you look at QuantumJG's sig, you can see that he did "Graffiti to terrorism" in sem 1 and is also doing Finance 1 this sem. I have another friend that's in a similar situation where he did "Creative writing" in sem 1.
