my topic is based on religious prejudice and i was thinking of introducing my speech with a short story... would it be too boring or dramatic?  :o i dont want the audience to be bored but at the same time i dont wanna look like i'm presenting a SAC for VCE drama lol

Depends how you include it. My oral was about Chan and Sukumaran, and in it I included a short story of someone's experiences with heroin. It went down really well as it was completely different to most other presentations, and as I built up to a crescendo during the story, it really showcased my use of different tones throughout the speech.
