chem 1/2 or 3/4 read ahead?

In regards with chemistry, I slept through units 1/2 ( haha ) and i really regret it now, I passed all my exams and got 80-90 for most tests. but I didn't know it well and I usually just crammed before a test. I want to do well in chem and i want it in my top 4 so how do i overcome this? should I revisit the 1/2 course? I am confident with my 1/2 content to the point where i can get a 70-80 sometimes 90 but not confident to the point where i think i am able to get a 45+ on 3/4 chem. Should i re ahead in 3/4 or go back to 1/2?

I'm sorry for going a bit off topic (I'll answer below) but didn't you post this yesterday or a couple of days ago and get responses???

" I want to do well in chem "- My teacher recommends getting the course work done ahead of the time schedule because you don't have to work at the same pace as everyone else. While doing this complete 1-3 exam questions (after a chapter or while doing it) throughout the year. Gaining exposure to the way these questions are worded and expected to be answered will increase your chances of getting it in the top four.

If you know how to do the stuff there (revise it bro) then unit 3/4 should be a okay. I wanted to read ahead but felt the need to take in as much rest before VCE snatched it away from me for the next year  :). Literally I was working 6+ hours trying to get ahead then was told by a friend to relax.

And if you got 70-90% on you exams then bravo to you! Bruh I botched and lost 23 marks on my final exam (term 3/4) ;D. But my teacher didn't give us in class topic tests, just application type work (pracs). Any other questions?

Cool. Read this afterwards: http://learnmate.com.au/breaking-year-12-vce-chemistry-part-1-unit-3/

This gives a rundown of unit 3 chem if anyone is interested  :P

I would extremely recommend to have a look over 1/2 for the rest of your holidays. If you don't have knowledge of the basic stuff, then how will you cope with units 3/4?

My plan for Specialist for the holidays was that I would start with units 1/2 (reason being I need the basic knowledge to continue further), and when I have mastered a certain [or most of the] topic, then I would go ahead and have a look through units 3/4. My plan worked out great! As, right now, I have enough knowledge to do most of the Complex Number and Vectors 3/4 questions (not calcus stuff yet). I know that this isn't directly related to chemistry, but you can do something like this.

My recommendation: Look through units 1/2 chemistry. Master the topics. The continue with units 3/4. However, dont spend too much time on a particular topic  :P

What your saying here doesn't make much sense...You're implying that you need to be go back to 1/2 chem to score highly I'm 3/4 (thereby answering your own question).
Personally, I'd start 3/4 content... Much of the unit 3 is just revision of 1/2 content (stoichiometric) anyway, so you'll be wasting time if you go back to 1/2 gravimetric and volumetric analysis.

Sorry if i didn't explain myself well, but I was saying that I was able to get 70-80s in unit 1/2 chem, so I was a average year 11 student. The main reason i was saying this is to give you guys an rough idea on my unit 1/2 abilities,i wasn't sure if this was a good foundation to go into 3/4 with. I am not sure if it is worth to go back to unit 1/2 since i was only an average student or if i should just read ahead instead.

Thanks for your advice though! Yeah i think i will just read ahead.
