Hi! I am struggling to find literary techniques in the following quote from Emma by Jane Austen: “With insufferable vanity had she believed herself in the secret of everybody's feelings; with unpardonable arrogance proposed to arrange everybody's destiny ... she had done mischief.”

Hey,
What sort of analysis are you going for? For now, there are a few I can think of:

Tone - what sort of tone do the words "insufferable" and "unpardonable arrogance" give? How does it add to the meaning of the text, and the characters themselves? (I didn't do the text, so your analysis is based upon your interpretation).
Use of the indefinite pronoun - everyone - usually used for commonality amongst all things, people, and other non-specific objects. I'm not sure about the context in which this is appropriate but it can be used to diminish the value of the characters in the text.

Hey!
Your literary techniques that you pull out can vary depending on the theme that you're looking at. Do you have a certain theme you are looking for?

Good work opengangs!
These are definitely good ones to start with!  ;D

Hey!
It usually takes exactly one week for ATAR Notes to send the slides, so keep an eye out in your inbox!

This is kinda really really vague. Can you give us some more detail?
There are stacks of aspects to discovery itself, which will apply to the text you are using (if that is the case), so any more details will help us give more specific advice to you.  :)

So prickles beat me to it but to add to that, it depends on your texts, your question and what you think about the texts. Look at your texts in relation to the question and brainstorm some ideas to help develop what you think about discovery as supported by your texts. Then talk about your views about discovery with evidence from the texts.

That is our question, the speech can be on anything we want it to be on as long as it relates to discovery in some way, but I have no idea what I could even do, so I was hoping for some random thoughts that might give me an idea- it's very vague, I know (sorry)

Hi,
Should we use the Oxford comma in the HSC or not?
I'm a big supporter of it but I'm not sure if it's considered grammatically correct by everyone

Hi! Just wondering if you guys offer feedback for things such as creative and imaginative writing? If so, where can we submit? Thanks :)

We sure do! On the feedback and marking  board you can get feedback from peers and even a Moderator if you meet the post count (I think it's 30 per peice?)

Yeah that should be fine, I don't think the markers really care and pretty sure it is considered grammatically correct anyway

Submit it here ;D Just make a new topic (little blue box top right hand corner) and include some info about the piece (e.g. creative writing AOS) you want marked in your title so people know what they are marking before they even click on it. It just helps, opposed to calling your topic 'English marking' which is not as helpful  ;D
Sorry if this is very confusing, I think there is a better explaination here
