If my understanding of the system is right, which it might not be hahaha, you just need to have the average of your mark and your rank's mark to be band 6. So depending on how well your grade will do, you might need to get a higher band 6 (if your rank is not so good) or you might even be able to scrape a band 5 (if your rank is really good). No one know until the results come out for what you needed :)

Well I'm about mid in my rankings but is it better for me if my grade goes better or worse? Say I got 82 and the rest of the grade got an average of 80% compared to an average of 70%. Which would work better in my favour?

And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Do the best you can, and you'll get the best Atar you can. Forget about the rest of your year group!

For the creative, are we supposed to specify which stimulus we use?

I already asked this on the creative forum and they replied that your creative should be so detailed and parallel to the stimuli you have chosen, that they should be able to tell!
Did HSC in 2016 and was first person to get 100. Aeronautical engineering for me now :P

Hey !!

sorry for all the questions :P In Hamlet i'm doing the theme morality of revenge and i was wondering if it would be worth while giving context to the time? for example the changing social systems such as feudalism and all that. i'm not sure if it would be worthwhile to mention briefly or to assume that they know or something

Thanks !

Discussing context, particularly with regards to Hamlet, is sometimes a seriously powerful tool. If you were discussing themes of humanism, for instance, I would seriously recommend placing Hamlet in context, to identify changing social factors. However, context is not always necessary. My general recommendation is to decide whether a sentence or two on context would aide your thesis. If it would, then absolutely throw it in. Don't spend long on it, but show the marker that you're a band 6 student who knows how to be impressive. If you're ONLY doing it to be impressive (ie. it doesn't relate to your thesis), then don't bother.

Hey cuttlefish welcome to the ATARnotes forums!!

I am also doing Richard III/LFR for Mod A (albeit not being that good :P) and I have been told that you should either
a) have a paragraph explaining the influence of context and medium (you know, texts vs context, diff products of diff times etc)
OR
b) have a sentence or two related to each point you make where you bring up the context in each paragraph (just a sentence or two)

I did the second one, got a 13/20 in my trial (at least its a B right? ;D) so either I'm doing the second one horribly wrong or the first one is the way to go. Hopefully someone else can help me on this- Elyse? :D - but thats just my view on things.

Hope you get a lot out of these forums!!
