hey this isnt strictly an eng question but is it pretty much a necessity to get a band 6 to have a 90+ atar or what, ive been toying around with the atar calc and its given me more questions than i started with

Not necessarily, though I would imagine you’d need all VERY high Band 5’s to crack 90, and it would depend on your subjects! just aim to do the best you can!

Hey! So for module A i do 4 columns (in this order): concept, text, technique/quote and analysis, context
For module B i do Poem, concept, technique/quote and analysis
For module C i do text, concept, technique/quote and analysis

What is the technique where there are 3-4 words one after the other, separated by commas?
For e.g. "Do you think because I am poor, obscure, plain and little, I am soulless and heartless?”

I usually call it a list and then talk about the cumulative effect of the imagery when I want to use quotes like that

I think in this case I would just use accumulation, which is the excessive listing of words/phrases. https://literarydevices.net/accumulation/

There are two types of specific listing which are easy to remember as well, which are asyndeton and polysyndeton. The first is the same as listing but without any conjunctions like 'and' or 'or between them, only things like commas and full stops are between them. The second is the opposite, as in it has 'and' or 'or' between them.

No worries!
When i say text, i mean what text it is. For example, for module A i do Metropolis and 1984. So the text coloumn would be split into 'Metropolis' and '1984'
Similarly, the text coloumn for module C would be split into my perscirbed (The Art of Travel) and my related (the important places-short film)

Hi Amelia, there is not a set number of past papers that you should do before the trials that will give you a certain mark. It is all about doing practice papers, going through the answers, correcting your answer, understanding why the sample answer is the best answer for that question or equivalent to yours and understanding their approach to answering questions. By doing this you gain a fundamental understanding of how to approach an exam, the more you do the better prepared you will be.

While you are unsure (and I think most people are!), get feedback from more knowledgeable people! Teachers, confident peers, etc - Let them guide you until you can comfortably guide yourself
