Introductory Prac for biomolecules and cells.

Hello,
Just checked my unimelb email and found out I have to do a ILT before practical 1, and because I didnt do biology in year 12, I need to check out something called biology for newbies on LMS. However, I have no idea how to find this on LMS, nor do I know anything about the ILT based on 'training and biological drawing.' Can someone please help me on how to go about this. I feel like I'm about to fail before the subject even starts.

First things first, if the subject coordinator has not put up BIOL10002 onto the LMS then you'll need to wait for them to do that. You'll know because when you access the student portal you should see it listed under 'My Subjects' in the LMS subsection.

The intro ILT isn't really anything. Iirc it was just a little crime solving roleplay to help you get familiar with the use of the light and dissecting microscope. The lab manual has detailed instructions + some questions to guide you through it but I don't recall them being necessary at all (for now). Our Year 12 bio videos were called Biobytes last year, and I'm pretty sure they had their own section too.

Just take deeeeeeeep breaths. The faculty are very aware that university is a whole new world for a lot of students so they won't toss you into the deep end and leave you there to fend for yourself. It takes getting used to but you'll be fine  :)

Same position as you, don't stress bud! The LMS material isn't up yet for anybody, but it should be sometime soon. I haven't done VCE Biol so you're not alone.

I'm assuming the info re: the ILT will be clear soon as well, and will be straightforward when we do it. (e: confirmed by above post)

Sorry for the DP.

The LMS is now up for BIOL10002, CHEM10006, and MAST10011 for me. Should work for you as well.
