With reference to Lenz's law explain why it is harder to turn a generator when it is connected to a load (e.g. a light bulb) than when it is not connected to a load. (3)

There is physical resistance with the load attached, thereby making it harder to turn, however the voltage supplied is greater due to the reduced turns and thus causing reduced back emf
