Good or bad

Currently at MHS year 9, and am quite annoyed as a small mistake led to a chain of mistakes in my first test and landed me an 80/100, though it was so easy

Also my geography test didn't exactly go so well, got a 70, reaaaaly getting on my nerves.

Anything I can do to relieve this stress? I'm not used to low marks -_-

P.S legit everyone got crap grades for that geo test, but that kinda screws me over, and my parents aren't probably used to seeing my marks below the <90 like it did in my previous school.

Stress releasing techniques guys?

this is my area- I'm legit the queen of stupid mistakes---i just got 85% on a test i could have got 95% on if it wasn't for the silly mistakes.- but I'm in yr 12
your in year 9...so you kinda just have to tell yourself that this doesn't matter hugely and it's not going towards your ATAR or anything...this will reduce the stress and minimise your silly mistakes. i know it matters to you what marks you get (it mattered to me at every year of school), but from what my experience so far, it's just a process of talking it over with yourself and kinda convincing yourself that if you breathe easy, the test will go better cos your head will be clearer (you will be able to think better). secondly pay really close attention to what you are doing...and try not to rush it...when you go over at check your test, pay really close attention to all of it. a lot of the time (practically all the time), teachers give questions that a realistic...so if you calculate some distance as 1m when it is supposed to be a tower, then you've done something wrong.
if everyone got a bad grade for it, then maybe it was a hard test? those do happen, and will happen a lot. thats why it's probably better to look at what rank you came, rather than the percentage score
hope this helps
and good luck!

Put it into perspective as well: it's Year 9.

More than just marks.

All that matters in Year 9 is (hopefully) good study techniques and making sure teachers don't despise you. I got a 63% on my Year 7 final math exam and no one cared. I smashed my Year 8 math exam with a 98%. People were like 'Good job!' and then moved on with their life.

In subjects in such as Geo: assignment > test marks. Just focus on writing a good essay as you are forced to do an English subject regardless if you want to. Ask yourself did you actually study properly and do you care about the material? Who cares about longshore drift and destructive waves?
