Here is the thing.....I'm not the hard working type to achieve a really good score in school...yeah I know that sounds bad..
I'm currently in year 12 and have only 5 subjects
Chinese FL
EAL
Physics
Method
Further Maths (which I really regret choosing...)
My start of the year was just BAD, when everyone was like getting anxious and stressful in yr 12.....my class attendance was only 50% while the vce attendance stayed around 80% thanks to the doctor notes..
Of course I wasn't sick all the time...but I was all about that bed obsession and laziness..which ended up having a big talk with my year level leader and my parents
I was just as stupid to think with the doctor certificate I should be fine.....but apparently it was too unethical for school to ignore this....
I still want to have an ATAR and after I was told I would be transferred to other tertiary pathways if I continued missing out school days, I began to turn up at school every single day in every class, without even being once late
And my year level leader was very happy about my performance...
BUT again I think I may have a problem now—I still don't really do any school work....I mean like the textbook questions you are asked to do in class
because not every of my teacher is into bookcheck..as long as you sit for every SAC you basically can pass the unit
(Though almost any teacher tells us we will fail if the score is under 40%... haven't seen any of the students just failed for screwing up the sac)
In methods my teacher talks like rediculously fast. not the speed but the way she explains stuff...jumping from step 1 to conclusion without any detailed understandable explaining...and we don't really have time to do the book questions in class since we basically take notes and do example questions all the time
She gave us the question lists at the start of the year which should be completed as the chapter finished
However she never checks the questions for the whole half a year...yes two terms:(
Sometimes she mentioned to check our work and what happened was she never actually did..
For the diligent students of course, they just showed their working out and asked questions to her frequently...which was unlikely to happen in the case of someone lazy like me......I only have like some drafts and random questions from random chapters...took no more than 5 pages in total....which prob would get me killed when she sees it
But as I said I don't want to fail VCE...I don't really do anything risky to fail my subjects...excepts the book work:)
I don't really know my sac ranking in method...just like no one knows it in my school. It seems really weird to me that the first sac for method in my school is at the end of term 2..which contains all the stuff from chap. 1 to 10...and YES it's driving everyone crazy
As so far I know I'm doing OK in all the test....maybe it's kind of hard for me to stay in A since I rarely do any work out of the school , but my average is around B which does not concern me at all. My school is ranked pretty high and the teachers are tough markers....so it won't dramatically turn out that I will do shit in the final exam...and yes I'm starting to work harder now...
I'm just wondering how is the school-based assessment going to result in the study score....like my method teacher seeing my book today she told me to show her the work next week or I will get a N for my unit 3...(I didn't tell her I couldn't be bothered to do the question because I still want to live... and instead I excused myself telling her I did them on loose papers...)
Now I'm asked to find all the loose papers, all questions for half a year:/
I'm not sure if I actually will catch up all the work...the biggest reason is I have then to pull so many all-nighters to get it done...secondly I found the textbook questions are not really useful in improving my scores...they are all just basic questions and in same pattern. Doing a few is fine but to finish all of them is just useless....which is something I will never dare to say to my teacher...
What even confuses me more is my physics teacher said she doesn't care about our marks in sacs or how much work we have done...80% in completion work is not necessesary to pass the unit, but it's beneficial to achieve a higher rank
And as always, compared to the others in my physics class the work I have done is like...not satisfactory. Luckily it's not a problem to her at all..as long as I behave well in class, do pracs and hand in some worksheets...and for sacs she told me I'm in absolute rank1 so there's nothing I need to worry about
It's not like if I don't do much book work then I will screw up the test and sac...I still take notes and ask questions( which sometimes is useless when there are some teachers just confuse u more..l) and before the sac if there's any concepts I don't understand I just find ways to figure it out...most of the time
At least when u understand what's going on u can't really screw up every test right...and it makes it even easier if u have a cheatsheet

(physics)
HOWEVER! I do admit practice and effort are way more important to get a better score, doing a lot of work will only improve ur rank, which is something I plan to do now...
Sorry I've been talking nonstop crap...but can anyone tell me will I fail unit 3 method and have a limit access to apply Uni course if I don't turn in all the works and disappoint the teacher:/
