BSc student here, heard good things about both, but if anyone has done both which one is more manageable in terms of workload?

Intro micro was pretty interesting, and I had to put alot more work into QM to really get it.

If you're looking for an easier subject, probably intro micro. Although in saying that, if you're talented in maths/statistics then you'll find QM1 not too hard.

FWIW not many people choose QM1 if they don't have to - there's probably a reason for that

The pre-req is either doing B Comm or a study score of at least 25 in English (any) or equivalent and Mathematical Methods in VCE Units 3 & 4 or equivalent.

Introductory microeconomics is a lot easier :P

Ah that's what I heard and that the amount of support/staff available in the subject is very high compared to most others.

Hmm, yeah I'm looking for a breadth this sem and both look appealing, though I'm leaning towards Intro to micro since I haven't done any Stats. Is the statistics part of the course difficult to grasp without previous knowledge?

Um no, QM1 can't be taken as breadth by BSc students :(
See the handbook page https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2016/ECON10005
Bachelor of Science doesn't appear on the list of breadth options.
