No, you don't require units 1&2 to do 3&4. However, like Debbie has already said, it is good to have background information in this subject as it is quite content heavy.

Conceptually Legal Studies is quite straight-forward and overall and interesting subject, depending on where your interests lie. However, it does take some work, especially if you are looking for a high study score. From personal experience, doing lots of practice questions is highly beneficial and ensures that you are ready for every SAC.
