As mentioned above right in words and in brackets the number and from then on in number will be accepted

Oh of course not, definitely not by itself! But it plays to the overall idea of academic style and proper setting out of your ideas ;D

To make it completely clear, whenever I used acronyms/shortened versions of longer phrases, I  write something like

... as discussed in Nineteen Eighty Four (hereafter '1984')
