Seeking friendly study score information/assistance!

Hi,
Im just curious, because i've heard so many geniuses that know all about the theory behind the study score!
40+ still possible?
My SAC scores so far are(in decent cohort)
19/20
35/40
27/40
15/20
15/20
111/140 = 79 average
One 20 marker and one 40 marker left for the year (60 marks)

FYI I'm a good student and willing to put the work in (i.e. got a 49 in economics last year in year 11 and aiming for a 50 in methods this year), however my interest in P.E is substantially lacking via its dryness and not exactly being my cup of tea! Worst of all its not even going to be in my bottom 2(spec and latin), hence why I'm here now seeking for advice.

I heard the cutoff is around 75% for the A+ in the exam, however my friend last year who did 3/4 p.e got an average of 65 for his sacs and A+ on exam and only got a 36. with his U3 SACS being moderated from B to A and U4 sacs from B to B+, (i.e. A-B+-A+

I'm just a bit confused because i thought an  A+ on the exam will bring you to at least a 38+?  Could he have gotten a very low A+? I know it has something to do with the cohort e.t.c, can someone give me an insight to this please?

i.e. last year I managed a 49 economics with only a 89 average(although rank 1 with difficult SACS), but  surely you understand my speculation here xD

Thank you very much!

Study scores are altered at the end of the year against exam marks.

As every school sets their own SACs throughout the year, some students will be getting extremely hard SACs whereas others will be getting easier SACs. Because of this VCAA will look at how a school cohort does in the exam and alter the SAC scores to ensure that everyone had an equal opportunity to score well.

Again with the exam, as the study scores are normally distributed, if the exam is hard and nobody gets above a 70% for example (this is probably very unlikely), then the percentage that you needed to be above to get an A+ will be lower.

I don't really know about the 38+ for an A+ in the exam, but my guess would be that it was dependent on his SAC scores, it would be very hard to get around a 38 if you only had D+ on you SACs even if you got A+ in the exam for example.

If you are ranked quite well within your cohort and continue to work really hard. A 40+ is definitely achievable for you. I know that this time of the year can get quite tedious and can feel dry but just keep pushing through it. You are almost there. Try not to worry about marks, just do the best you can.

I wouldn't call myself a study score genius in any way so if anyone reading this thinks that I have made an error feel free to let me know  :)
