Key Aspects of Crises

The last AOS on the study design includes a dot point which is rather ambiguous.

- "Key aspects of the crisis of armed conflict including intervention, war as an instrument of state policy, prosecuting war and war crimes in international law".

I'm using Afghanistan as my case study and i'm not really sure how i'm meant to formulate notes on such a dot point or how what questions can be asked on it. The problem is exacerbated by the lack of text book relevance...
Any ideas/help in regards to what I should be doing?

Okay, so for intervention you can discuss what were the reasons for intervention such as Humanitrian crises, human rights violations etc

Also can discuss whether or not the intervention was legally mandated, did the U.N allow it?
