Ranking in a Weak Cohort

Hi everyone, so it is now really close to exams obviously, and I just want some reassurance...

The school I go to is only SLIGHTLY above average, nothing extraordinary at all. At our school there are LOTS of students who really don't work very hard and don't care to be honest. However, like most schools, there is that top pocket of students who want to do well and give a damn (myself included).

For example in chemistry, we have around 60 students - the top 5-7 maybe students are relatively strong but then there is a massive gap, and the rest of the cohort is quite weak...

I believe I am Rank 4/5, so my question is at my rank will my study score be affected? Or because I am surrounded by relatively strong students around the top I will be okay?

My aim for chem is around 43-47....

Also my maths/science GAT score won't be good as I decided to focus on English...will this hinder me? Especially because I am not rank 1?

And last thing, from rank 4, can I not get scores 45+ if rank 1 and 2 for example only manage to get 41 or 42?

Thanks! :) :) :)
