What happens when you walk into the hall, do teachers check your calculators and stuff?
Did HSC in 2016 and was first person to get 100. Aeronautical engineering for me now :P

Hey Punjabi! Depends on your supervisors a little bit, but in general they'll either check on the way in or do a peek in your reading time (unless you have something weird, they will know the popular ones on sight) ;D if you get a good supervisor they'll go out of their way to put you at ease; crack a joke or two on the way in. Mine did that and I really appreciated it :)

The process is normally dump your bags and grab your stuff, enter the hall (silence on entry), they read the big thing at the beginning about phones and notes and stuff, and then they read through the paper with you to make sure you have every page. Then you get reading time, then you get 3 hours of fun ;)

Ah, I kinda have this calculator which does surds for me and stuff and its not on the list,, but I was planning to bring it along anyway. Its a HP 300+ scientific calculator.

Aha good to know! I have to go off your username until you introduce yourself properly ;) do not bring a non approved calculator. Trust me, just seriously not worth it. Just take a few hours to revise surds instead ;)

Actually I am really, really good with surds. Its just a backup to check my answer... i dont want to screw this exam up!

I feel you, I always checked even the simplest thing in the exam ;) but yeah, unapproved calculator not worth it, just leave it at home :)
