If the question is a "Discuss" question

hey i was told that "discuss" means to "identify issues and provide points for and/or against"

so that means i can argue completely against the question?
eg"“Discoveries are often evoked by curiosity and wonder, offering up new understandings of ourselves and the world we live in”. Discuss this statement in relation to your prescribed text and ONE other text of your own choosing."

My thesis can be
"Discoveries are not always evoked by curiousity and wonder, but rather they are experienced unexpectedly. These discovers can offer new perceptions of self and our world"

Hey Vincent! That is definitely okay! Most questions in HSC English leave you open to interpret them in this way. Given that it says discuss, you could even do both! :)
