Techniques for the quote?

Does anyone know any techniques for the quote "I am part of all that I have met" from 'Ulysses' by Tennyson?

Hey! Its definitely a metaphor/symbolic language since obviously the poet doesn't physically leave actual bits of himself with random people  ;) I can't think of any more techniques right now, but someone else may chime in with another idea  :)

If you haven't already talked about the first person narration - it's definitely important here. You can talk about the tense contrast too - we've got "am" (present tense) and "met" (past tense) next to each other - indicating the impact of those met in the past on the present person :)
