Hey guys,

just wanted to know if this year in psychology 3/4 we need to learn about the lobes of the brain, hemisphere specialisation, types of glial cells and all that extra stuff we learnt in unit 1 psychology, coz it seems like vcaa removed all these concepts from this years updated study design for psychology 3/4, coz i had a close look at this years unit 3 study design, and theres only divisions of the nervous system, unconscious and unconscious responses (spinal reflex), neurons, neurotransmitters and parkinsons/alzheimers (all that GABA/glutamate stuff). i am really confusedddddd.....

Nope! But you will touch back on different brain structures again later in the year when you learn about memory.

Just like in (units 3&4) 2017, you don't need to know hemispheric specializations, types of glial cells or what each of the lobes is responsible for.
You do however need to remember the roles of different areas of the brain in regards to memory.

Edit: fixed a typo

thanks for replying. im so relieved im glad that vcaa showed some sympathy on us students and took out a few topics from the nervous system  or otherwise it would be basically information overload.
