If I were to complete maths related breadth whilst completing a bachelor of music, would this be sufficient to fulfill the requirements of a major or sub-major study for a secondary learning area?

Also, if I get in to the diploma in mathematical sciences, would this satisfy the demands for a secondary learning area?
