just wondering in the exam if we don't put the squiggly thinge under i j and k vectors do we lose marks?

lol it's called a tilde (~) :P. As for your question, sorry I don't know but as they take off whole marks only I can't say forgetting it here and there would warrant you losing marks. But you should generally put it as it differentiates between magnitude (the scalar) and vector quantities and if you consistently don't put it on they may be compelled to take a mark off. Better not risk it.

Yes. My teacher took marks off for not putting the squiggle under a 0. =.=
