coffee

DalvinT:
Just don't drink it too much, too often  :) because having a lot of coffee will make you tired in fact :) This is because more adenosine receptors (in charge of the level of tiredness) are produced because the caffeine is suppressing it the pre-existing ones. Therefore, your body initiates a positive feedback that produces more adenosine receptors, so once you get off caffeine there will be an excessive amount of adenosine receptors left than before you had caffeine/coffee which will lead you to feel sluggish and tired.

hahahaha you make coffee sound like some sort of drug, like alcohol or cigarette ;D

But in all seriousness, I've read in a book some time ago that coffee in moderate amount is actually good for you as long you don't put too much sugar. So a cup or two a day is perfectly okay, just as long you don't use it excessively to try to keep yourself awake.

See it as a little boost to your alertness, not being dependent on it. Ideally you should be recharge and be refreshed by getting plenty of sleep, not by relying on coffee 8)

What about taking caffeine pills
To stay up and study or do assignment s
Like a few days before exams
Is it worth doing that
And its not like it will be too bad
?

Wouldn't caffeine pills have TOO much caffeine compared to coffee?

Coffee is a drug, just like alcohol and methamphetamine :) Just goes to societal acceptance of certain forms of consciousness-altering states.
