Personally i use ethylene but from what i've seen, the HSC uses both so its up to you

Ethene is the IUPAC name.

Ethylene is more of the everyday conversation name. That's why it's also acceptable.

I guess use ethene because it's shorter  ;D

My class was told ethene because as RuiAce said that's its IUPAC name.

It doesn't matter but if they specifically ask for the common name then it is ethylene and if they  ask for the systematic name then say ethene
