Bioengineering Systems stream or general?

Hi everyone,
not sure if this is the right place to ask but I know that there's a separate stream in first year for people who want to do biomedical engineering later on. I'm wondering if this is the only option to pick up the Bioengineering systems major? Straight up from the first day?

If I choose to do the general stream with everyone else, would I still be able to pick the major up later in the second year? Biomedical engineering always appealed to me but I don't know if picking this specialised stream will lock me into it :P

Thanks :)

Assuming you're talking about Biomedicine, if you're considering Biomedical Engineering as a possible major, you must take the specialized stream in first year because they are pre-requisites. Choosing to do the specialized stream doesn't lock you into a Biomedical Engineering major. You can still choose to do other majors later on if you change your mind.
Pls do not send me a pm about Aspire applications. The process has vastly changed since I applied.
