40+ SS question

The first further sac i had was comsidered very hard compared to what we learned and the practise SACs given that methods kids got in the 80s% however i got a 68% (i know, though it was still above average it is so shit considering i do methods and further is a piss subject) and since this sac contributes a small percentage of the overall ss which gets scaled according to how well i do in the exam, so if i do really well in the exam is it still possible to get a 40+ since my sac results scale according to how i go in my exam

plsbegentle

Of course it is possible to get 40+ if you do well on the exam! But with that said, if you've gotten 68% on your first sac, why do you think you'll do very well on the exam? 40+ is a pretty good and high goal to set,  a lot of people fall into the trap, where they are like "one bad sac, oh no i'm not gonna get  a 40 now". What i suggest to you is to focus on preparing better for the next sac and if you get a mark that you're happy with, you wont really be worried about that 40+ s.s

What kind of qs did the sac focus on?

I think, firstly, it's important to recognise that raw SAC scores don't mean too much. If your entire cohort performed relatively poorly but then does well on the exams, those scores are very likely to be moderated. By the sounds of it, your SAC result was above average for your cohort - nice work!

It's definitely still possible to get 40+. Definitely.

From here, though, I'd be focusing on why you lost those marks in the first place. Even if you find the subject easy, that doesn't count for much if you're still dropping marks, y'feel? Was it silly mistakes?

Moderation of Sac scores is a possibility if everyone on average didn't perform well.. However instead of worry about that, address the issues of why you lost marks and what can you do to avoid this happening again. If you focus on this then apply your self in coming sacs you should be swell.

If it offers any consolidation, I was top of my cohort for FM, dropped 6 marks out of a potential 210 across all of my sacs, then I stressed out and partially botched one of my exams, now the only person who bet me at my school SS wise was actually a mate who averaged 4th in cohort, he bet me by 1point...

Moral of the story Sacs mean a lot, but not everything, and less than they're hyped up to..

Wait so your cohort ranking effects what excatly? It effects the scailing of the sac to the exams and how does that work

This is what I said in another thread, but I think it will help you. I've heard someone at my school get a 50 with one SAC as a B and another person getting a 47 with one C+ SAC, but these are people who aced the rest of their SACs and the exam. Basically, one single SAC will not determine your whole study score and as long as you try hard and ace the rest of your SACs (ranking highly by the end of the year in your cohort in your SACs) and ace the exam, then 40+ is definitely achievable. I'd say 45+ and maybe even 50 is still achievable provided you ace everything else. These examples are from English not further, but in multiple subjects I've heard of people going from really low SAC grades to 45+ study scores. For example, in specialist maths, I've heard someone go from a C+ first SAC mark to a 47 (this is different to the above example which was for English). So, as long as you try hard and do your best, you can still achieve amazing study scores.
