If a question asks us to calculate the residual value and in the previous question we calculates the least squares regression line, do we use that line or the one in our calculator to give us the predicted value.
Both give very different results

Either or. The answer shouldn't be very different - only .01ish off

The difference was 0.18, I had to round of the LSR line to 2 d.p

As was pointed out, it shouldn't really give you much of a difference. However, there is not concrete rule on which you should take. Given in this situation they told you to calculate the LSRN in the previous question, use that line to give you the predicted value.
