essay question

(1/2) > >>

mylinh-nguyen:
I have an essay question and I do not know what to discuss, the question is "to what extent does the law reflect the moral and ethical standards of society"
I was going to write about bail but I don't know what else to include. Any help would be appreciated :)

Wesley S:
Hello mylinh-nguyen,

For your essay question you can talk about any law reform in the crime topic. So you could talk about

Bail
Police Powers - talk about here the use of DNA evidence. This can become both an argument and counter argument. You could also talk about police powers that reflect moral and ethical standards concerning young offenders.
Young Offenders
Role of Victims (plea bargaining, victim impact statement etc)

Thats what I could think about from past questions I've completed in class

Hope that helps,
Wesley

I suppose the punishments also reflect the legal system's desire for rehabilitation, as opposed to destructive punishments.
