Relax, you'll be fine. I did 6 subjects back then, plus had a part-time job and I did fine :) If I can do it, so can you.

On the bright side, you'll be pushed to your limits, but it really trains your work efficiency, discipline and time management.

Instead of freaking out and saying "This is too much! I can't handle this!", instead ask yourself "How can I manage 6 subjects effectively?", you'll find the answers when you actively seek them :P

If you are enjoying all your subjects, and are doing well ie managing time, not getting stressed and getting good marks, then it is fine! After all it is YOUR hsc not your friends... Best of luck!

I'm finding 5 subjects pretty intense right now but I'm sure if you are willing to work hard it will be achievable. Thankfully there is a fair bit of overlap between methods, spesh and physics, although when it comes to exam prep you will have to be very organised to make sure you get enough practice exams done for each subject.

You can get through it and do well by putting in the work as everyone is saying.

However, if you do start to seriously feel very overwhelmed and stressed about the work load, talk to your VCE or year level, or a teacher you're comfortable talking with. Don't try to cope with it if you absolutely feel like you can't.

I originally had Visual Communication Design as part of my VCE lineup for year 12, but at the end of unit 3, withdrew internally from the subject after much deliberation with multiple levels and kinds of staff due to the stress starting to damage my physical and mental health. Withdrawing internally meant I was not in the subject in the school's system, but VCE still believed I was. My academic transcript had a grade for unit 3, but N/A for unit 4 and the exam. It had no effect on my ATAR at all if that's a concern, it simply was ignored as if I never took the subject in the first place.

Like everyone else is saying, it's definitely possible to do 6 subjects in year 12, as long as you put in the work and organise your time efficiently. I personally know someone that did 6 subjects in year 12 and got a pretty good atar. So, if they can do it, then you can do it too!

6 subjects in year 12 is rare, but 6 subjects all together is pretty common. Most people do one 3/4 subject in year 11 and 5 in year 12.
